Queen Elizabeth II, the longest-reigning British monarch, died on September 8, aged 96, bringing an end to her historic 70-year reign. The Royal Family issued an official announcement on social media announcing her death. The Queen died “peacefully” at her home at Balmoral, according to the statement.
